Gomel oblast spas and sanatoria are booked by the end of summer. In the last two years not only locals but also foreign holiday-makers have been showing increased interest in Gomel spas.
Nowadays sanatoria of the region sell the vouchers on their own, BelTA learnt in the recuperation and sanatoria treatment department of the Gomel oblast executive committee. Due to the successful marketing policy and reasonable prices, virtually all the spas have been booked in summer and partially in autumn.
Russians are very eager to spend their recuperation holidays in Belarus as it cost them twice as low as back home. Tourists from Germany, Italy, and Israel are also quite frequent visitors in Gomel spas. By the way, foreign guests pay much higher prices than Belarusian citizens.
According to experts of the Gomel oblast executive committee, the growing interest of foreigners in Gomel spas fuels construction of new spa facilities in the region.
