Gomel students win All-Russia Computer Programming Olympiad

GOMEL, 16 November (BelTA) – A team of the Gomel students – Gennady Korotkevich, Ivan Artiukhov and Mikhail Astashkevich – has won the 10th All-Russia Computer Programming Olympiad, BelTA learnt from the education department of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee. The competition was held in St. Petersburg. Taking part in the Olympiad were more than 160 teams from Moscow, St. Petersburg, various Russian regions, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and others. In the fight for the victory, the Gomel students upstaged a team of the specialized educational center of the Lomonosov University of Moscow. Both the teams solved nine problems from ten. At the same time, the Gomel students did it faster. Mikhail Dolinsky, Professor of the Gomel State University, is the coach of the Belarusian team. According to the education department, at the Olympiad the Gomel oblast was represented by two teams from Gomel more (coach – Mikhail Dolinsky) and two teams from Mozyr (coach – Alexei Borunov).
