Gomel to honour best oblast settlements and collectives
The Gomel oblast will start celebrating May Day holiday with an honouring of the winners among the oblast towns, regions, organizations, establishments and sole traders who showed the best indices in 2007, BelTA learnt from the main ideology department of the Gomel oblast executive committee.
The competitions were held in 48 nominations that covered all areas of the activity. The best regions became the Svetlogorsk, Zhitkovichi, Lelchitsy regions. The best industrial organizations were the Belarusian Steel Works, the Svetlogorsk Cellulose and Paper Factory, the Rechitsa Hardware Plant and others. The State Puppet Theatre and the Gomel Palace and Park became the winners as well. Savely Bolobolov from Dobrush was called the best farmer and the Mozyr closed society Partner and Co – the best sole trader.
