Gomel to host congress on outpatient services on 25-26 September

MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) – The 2nd congress of doctors providing outpatient services will be held in Gomel on 25-26 September, BelTA learned from the Health Ministry of Belarus.

Taking part in the congress will be over 500 specialists working in outpatient clinics, including foreign delegates from the CIS and non-CIS states.

The program features plenary and break-out sessions, symposiums, and master classes. The participants of the session will discuss the provision of multi-type healthcare services in outpatient clinics, inter-disciplinary issues, matters related to pediatrics, modern approaches to diagnostics and treatment of pain. Top on the agenda will be the contribution of doctors providing outpatient services to the fight against non-communicable diseases. Other highlights of the congress are a session of fledgling scientists, a contest for the best poster report, a contest for the best article about innovations in primary medical care and a contest for the best information poster (leaflet) promoting a healthy lifestyle.

The best doctors providing outpatient services and their assistants will be awarded diplomas and gifts.

The congress is organized by the Health Ministry of Belarus, the Belarusian Society of Therapists, the Association of General Practitioners of Belarus, the World Health Organization, the Belarusian Red Cross Society, the Belarusian Trade Union of Healthcare Workers, the healthcare department of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee, the Belarusian Medical Academy of Post-Graduate Education, and the Gomel State Medical University.

The first congress of doctors providing outpatient services took place in Minsk in 2008.
