Gomel to host exhibition of Moldovan painter Tudor Zbarnea

GOMEL, 20 July (BelTA) – An exhibition of modern Moldovan painter Tudor Zbarnea “Archetypal Space” will open in the Gomel Rumyantsev-Paskevich Palace on 20 July, BelTA has learnt. The artist is interested in archetypes, ancient spiritual symbols, myths. These symbols are simple, but powerful. Using simple details, the author creates sophisticated compositions bearing an ancient meaning. However, these images are easy to comprehend. Thanks to sunny and bright colors, the pictures by Tudor Zbarnea instill optimism. “Color comes from within. I am guided by my senses and intuition. Reason should not dominate over emotions. Art starts on the other side of the rules,” that is how the artist explains his attitude to painting. Tudor Zbarnea embraces both tradition and modernity. About 80 paintings of the Moldovan artist will be exhibited in Gomel. Tudor Zbarnea is an honored artist of Moldova, winner of numerous international prizes and diplomas. He was born in Moldova in 1955. He graduated from the Repin Art Collage in Chisinau and the George Enescu University of Arts. He took part in over 200 exhibitions in Belgium, Germany, Holland, Italy, Cyprus, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Romania, Finland, and France. Since 2002 Tudor Zbarnea has been Director General of the National Art Museum of Moldova. His works are held at the National Art Museum of Moldova, the State Art and Sculpture Museum in Ankara (Turkey) and private collections. The exhibition “Archetypal Space” is organized within the framework of the project “Gomel, the Cultural Capital of Belarus and the CIS 2011”.
