Gomel to host finals of town ice hockey tournament “Golden Puck”
Gomel will host the finals of the town ice hockey tournament “Golden Puck” for the prize of the Belarusian president on February 26-27.
The participants of the tournament are young hockey players, winners of the regional qualifications in the U14 junior age group and U16 seniour age group.
In January-February 2007, qualifying matches of the 11th national ice hockey tournament among children and teenagers “Golden Puck” were held in all districts of Gomel. A total of 47 amateur teams took part in them.
The oblastwise finals will take place in early March. The winner will represent the oblast at the national finals.
The Gomel town tournament of the national tournament is traditionally organized by the department for physical culture, sport and tourism of the Gomel town council, town committee of the Belarusian republican youth union and Gomel public association “Ice Hockey Federation”.
