Gomel to host international festival of choreographic art Sozhski Karagod
Representatives of 11 countries will take part in the 5th international choreographic festival Sozhski Karagod which will be held in Gomel on September 11-14, BelTA learnt in the culture department of the Gomel City Council.
Representatives of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Poland, Moldova, Sweden, Italy and other countries have already approved their participation in the choreographic festival. The Mariinka Theater of St. Petersburg, the Belarus State Dance Company, the best choreographic groups from the Belarusian regions, laureates and prize-winners of various international choreographic festivals will take part in the Gomel forum.
The programme of the festival includes a contest of four choreographic nominations: folk-theatrical, pop dance, break dance and ballroom dance. Only adult dancers will be permitted to take part in the competition. A sports and ballroom dance tournament for the Gomel Cup Golden Lynx will be held within the framework of the choreographic festival as well.
The 5th international choreographic festival Sozhski Karagod will be organized by the Belarusian Culture Ministry, the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee and the Gomel City Council.
At the same time, Gomel will hold the City Day. According to organizers of the festival, the two events will attract a great number of guests.
