Gomel to host international figure skating tournament October 1-5
On October 1-5, Gomel will host the international figure skating tournament Grand Prix among Juniors Golden Lynx-2008. The event will be held in the Ice Palace of the city under the auspices of the International Skating Union (ISU) and the Belarus National Olympic Committee.
Attending the competition will be over 130 sportsmen aged under 20 years old from 41 countries of Europe, America, Asia, Australia and Africa. The program of the competition includes single skating (men and women), pair skating and ice dance.
Belarus will be represented by the strongest figure skaters including sportsmen of the Gomel Figure Skating School – pair Anna Osadchaya and Dmitry Lantiugin (Irina Lobacheva, coach) and also Victoria Lyakhova, Juna Drobyshevskaya and Ekaterina Pogartseva.
