Gomel to host Museum and Traditional Culture of Belarus conference
GOMEL, 29 March (BelTA) – An international conference, Museum and Traditional Culture of Belarus, will take place in Gomel on 17-18 May, BelTA learnt from the Gomel Palace and Park Ensemble.
Attending the forum will be museum specialists and workers, representatives of the cultural departments, crafts and folk arts centers, museology and traditional culture researchers. The conference will highlight such themes as the role of the contemporary museum in preserving and updating traditional culture, cultural heritage conservation, intangible cultural heritage and others. Invitations to participate in the conference have been sent to museum researchers of Russia, Ukraine and Lithuania.
The primary goal of the conference is to share experience in preserving, popularizing, restoring and conserving the elements of the traditional culture of Belarus.
The organizers of the forum are the Department of Culture of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee, Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, the Gomel Palace and Park Ensemble, the Shklyarov Museum of Folk Arts in Vetka, the Lenin Universal Library in Gomel.
