On December 21, the TV company “Gomel” will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its founding.
On 31 December, 1957, the first director of the TV company, Valentina Shishkova, started first broadcast in Gomel. At that time, the programmes could be received in the 25km radius around the TV studio only.
Nowadays, Gomel’s programmes broadcast by national BT and LAD TV channels can be received in Ukraine’s Chernigov and Russia’s Bryansk oblasts. The oblast’s TV company has upgraded 80% of its technical facilities over several past years. Some Br100 million will be invested in digital equipment next year.
The oblast TV company broadcasts regularly 24 authorial programmes. This year the oblast TV company launched 10 new information, sports and music programmes.
The oblast and town authorities will congratulate the staff on the jubilee. Best workers of the company will be given honorary certificates.
