Gomelsteklo to buy silk-screen printing machine-tool this year
OAO Gomelsteklo plans to commission a multicolour silk-screen printing machine-tool in December 2006, acting head engineer of the company Sergei Kharitonov told BelTA.
The new machine-tool will be able to apply one colour and two-colour designs to glass shelves and showcases. It will be twice as powerful as the equipment the company uses now. The company expects to receive the machine-tool in November and take several weeks to install it.
Besides, Gomelsteklo plans to buy a modern furnace to harden plate glass. A tender is being held to buy the equipment. The new furnace will be put into operation in late 2006 — early 2007. The company is already using a French tempering furnace of the same type. The company plans to use its own funds and loans to buy the new furnace.
OAO Gomelsteklo specialises in float glass. The company also produces glass for furniture and tempered glass, TPS double-glazing units and foam glass. Gomelsteklo is the country's only producer of float glass. The company sells the make to Russia, Ukraine, and Western Europe. Export accounts for 60 per cent of the total make.
