Gomselmash launches production of grain harvesters in Altai Krai

GOMEL, 21 September (BelTA) - Belarusian manufacturer of agricultural equipment Gomselmash opened the joint venture to produce self-propelled grain harvesters in Altai Krai, Russia, BelTA learned from first deputy director general of Gomselmash Ivan Proturo. The production facility was set up at the Lenki Machinery Building Plant which is part of Altaiagrocenter. The plant will assemble two models of harvesters Palesse GS12 and Palesse GS812. The plant has already manufactured and tested pilot harvesters. In line with the agreement with Altai Krai authorities, by the beginning of the 2012 harvesting season the plant is to produce 200 harvesters. This cooperation is beneficial for both parties. Gomselmash will boost exports and Altai Krai will get grain harvesters which are considered the most reliable the CIS. Moreover, the use of local spare parts will reduce the cost of harvesters. According to Ivan Proturo, in the near future the range of equipment produced in Altai Krai will expand. To date Gomselmash operates more than ten joint ventures in Russia, Kazakhstan, China, and Argentina. There are plans to operate 20 joint plants. Founded in 1978, the manufacturing corporation Gomselmash stems from the plant Gomselmash that was founded in 1930. It is one of the largest manufacturers of agricultural machines in the CIS and Europe. Gomselmash offers self-propelled and towed harvesters and mowing crushers, grain harvesters, mounted mower-shredders, potato harvesters.
