Gomselmash’s export 8.6% up in January-August

GOMEL, 11 September (BelTA) – The manufacturing corporation Gomselmash exported $262 million worth of merchandise in January-August 2012, 8.6% up from the same period of last year, representatives of the company’s Marketing Center told BelTA. Specialists believe that last year’s sales of $285 million can be exceeded as early as this month. Gomselmash’s export to Russia, China, and Kazakhstan has increased considerably. Joint ventures and enterprises to assemble Belarusian machines and vehicles have been set up in these countries. The main trade partners of Gomselmash abroad are ZAO Bryanselmash (Russia), Kostanay Engine Plant, which is owned by Agromashholding (Kazakhstan), and Dong Jin Group corporation (China), which is a co-founder of the joint venture Harbin Dong Jin Gomel. Export growth has also been fuelled by several organizational measures that have been taken this year. In particular, the warranty service period for Polesie trademark machines, which are assembled in Belarus and Russia and are used in Russia, has been raised from two to three years. Gomselmash has created two proprietary trading houses in Russia – Gomselmash Center and Gomselmash Ural. An agreement on regular supplies of trailed forage harvesters to South Korea has been signed. A maintenance center ZAO Agro-Techno-Service has been set up in Amur Oblast to provide warranty service and post-warranty service for the agricultural machines, which are made together. The manufacturing corporation Gomselmash was founded in 1978. It stemmed from the Gomselmash factory that was established in 1930. As a major manufacturer of agricultural machines in the CIS states and Europe, Gomselmash offers self-propelled and trailed forage harvesters and crushing mowing machines, grain harvesters, mounted mowers, potato and beet harvesters.
