In 2006 residents of FEZ Gomel-Raton increase production volume by 33.1%

In 2006, residents of free economic zone (FEZ) Gomel-Raton produced production and services to the tune of Br329,3 billion, or 33.1% up as against of 2005, BelTA has been informed in the administration of the zone. In 2006 the volume of the produced industrial products, works and industrial services increased by 33.8% to make up Br325 billion. It is 1.8% of the total production volume of Gomel oblast and 12.6% of the total production volume of the town of Gomel. In 2006 the receipts of the FEZ residents from the sales of goods, works and services upped by 42.3% to make up Br366,9 billion. The sales profits increased by 67.3% as against 2005. In 2006 companies-residents of free economic zone Gomel-Raton paid more than Br43 billion of taxes, fees and other payments to the budget and off-budget funds. According to the administration of FEZ Gomel-Raton, in 2006 the investments in the fixed capital made up more than Br33 billion. Some 78% of the zone’s and attracted funds were invested in purchasing equipment, 21.3% - in construction works, 0.7% of funds were invested in other economic needs. In 2006, FEZ Gomel-Raton received foreign investments totaling $12,6 million, or 1.5 times up as against 2005. In the total volume of the foreign investments attracted by Gomel oblast, this sum made up 3.5%. In 2006 free economic zone Gomel-Raton set up 386 new working places. The zone employs 7188 professionals. FEZ Gomel-Raton was created in line with Belarus president's decree No. 93 of March 2, 1998. It is subdivided into production, export, and free customs areas. At present the FEZ hosts 36 economic entities.
