In January-August 2007 Gomselmash boosts export 1,5 times

In January-August 2007 Production Association Gomselmash exported $69.4 million worth of products, up by 50% on the same period of 2006, BelTA was told by director of Gomselmash marketing centre Vladimir Frolov. On the whole, the company’s export is expected to exceed $80 million in 2007. Gomselmash is building up its export potential in two directions. First, the company radically changed its approaches to the work with dealers from the Russian Federation. The number of dealers was reduced by approximately 25%. Gomselmash also opened two big trading houses – Gomselmash-Siberia and Gomselmash-South not only to demonstrate a whole lineup of its machines but also to provide presale technical support services. The company also considerably expanded the offering list of farm machines supplied to the international market. In particular, this year the association entered the market of grain harvesters for the first time and sold more than 150 combine harvesters at once. Second, Gomselmash is increasing the number of export geographies. The Belarusian combine harvesters are sold to the Czech Republic, Iran and Kazakhstan. In October the company plans to send several farm machines to Venezuela. According to Vladimir Frolov, the association is working hard to receive as many export orders for 2008 as possible. By the end of the current year Gomselmash plans to sign a big contract for the supply of combine harvesters to Iran. The company may also sign an analogous contract with Pakistan. The South American market may be promising as well. A subsidiary opened by Gomselmash in Argentina is expected to come fully on stream in 2008. The Belarusian company also intends to set up joint assembly facilities in Kazakhstan and Ukraine. Gomselmash is a major manufacture of multi-purpose agricultural equipment in Belarus. The company’s offering range includes combine harvesters, mowing and soil cultivation machines. All the processes, like design, production and maintenance of agricultural equipment are certified to ISO 9001-2001. In 2006, Gomselmash won the Best Goods of Belarus and the Best Goods of Belarus in Russian Market contests.
