In January-September 2006, Gomel-Raton companies attract USD 10,7 million of foreign investment
Over the nine months this year, the companies-residents of the free economic zone Gomel-Raton attracted USD 10,7 million of foreign investment, or two times as more as last year, BelTA has been told in the press service of the Gomel oblast executive committee.
Loans, trade credits and reinvestment revenues accounted for 98 per cent of foreign investments. Other investments were in the form of financial leasing, financial rent and contributions to the authorized capital of the companies-residents of the free economic zone. The free economic zone Gomel-Raton accounts for 5.3 per cent of the total foreign investments attracted by the companies of Gomel oblast.
Founded by decree #93 of the Belarusian president of March 2, 1998, Gomel-Raton is a complex free economic zone featuring production, export and free customs zones. As of early November 2006, thirty-two companies were registered with the free economic zone Gomel-Raton.
