International festival “Well of Slavonic friendship” to be held May 30-June 1
The international festival of schoolchildren from the Gomel oblast, the Bryansk and Chernigov regions “Well of Slavonic friendship” will be held in the Bryansk region on May 30-June 1, BelTA learnt from the Gomel oblast palace of children and youth.
The solemn opening ceremony of this event will take place at the Friendship Monument on the border between Belarus, Russia and Ukraine on May 30. The festival will be proceeded with the concert given by children and youth from the three regions. In particular, the Gomel oblast will be represented by finalist of the national children’s contest “Song for Eurovision” Diana Gromova, model choreographic studio “Milata” from Rogachev, model folk band “Gastinets” from Gomel and others. The total of 150 participants will take part in the festival.
During the three days of the festival the children will spend some time in the children’s recreation camp “Beryozka” near Bryansk, visit Tyutchev’s former mansion which is now a museum, go on excursions across the historic places of the Bryansk land. The schedule of the event also includes sports competitions and a round table where the participants will discuss the issues of the cooperation among the youth. The festival will be concluded with the concert “We are children of the world, we belong to one family”.
Since 1994, the international festival “Well of Slavonic friendship” has been gathering schoolchildren from the three Slavonic states every year. In 2008, the organizer of the event was the Bryansk region of Russia.
