GOMEL, 18 October (BelTA) - The 5th international karate tournament Gomel Open Cup 2013 featuring children, youth, juniors and senior sportsmen will be held in Gomel on 18-19 October, BelTA learnt from the organizing committee of the competition.
Taking part in the tournament will be over 400 karatekas from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine. The youngest participants of the competition will be about seven years old. The winners will be presented with medals, diplomas and special prizes. The first-placed karatekas will also get cups.
The event is organized by the Belarusian Karate Association and its regional department jointly with Gomel’s authorities. The competition is designed to promote karate as a sport and a healthy physical activity which can be taken up by people of any age.
