International tent camp Friendship 2006 to gather 800 teenagers from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine
Around 800 boys and girls from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine will take part in an international youth tent camp Friendship 2006, which will take place on June 22-24. First secretary of Gomel region committee of the Belarusian National Youth Union Vyacheslav Doroschenko told BelTA, this year the event, which is traditionally held near the Friendship Monument, was initiated by the Belarusian side.
According to the source, the participants will have interesting and entertaining time. During the solemn opening ceremony a meeting “June 22 – 22 Minutes” will take place along with the presentation of a three-volume edition of poetry “Skryzhali Pamyatsi” (memory tablets) and the first night of the movie “Belarusian Zwangsarbeiters”, which covers the period of fascist occupation of Belarus.
Vyacheslav Doroschenko noted, BNYU’s Gomel activists prepared a surprise for football fans. The fans will be able to support the Ukrainian football team, which will play against Tunis in Germany on June 23. A huge screen will be placed in the camp to display the match live.
The international contest “Slavonic Season of the Year” will be no less interesting. Besides, sport and intellectual competitions, exemplary performances by military and patriotic clubs, many other performances by music groups will be held.
The international youth tent camp Friendship 2006 will be solemnly closed on June 24.
