International youth camp Friendship 2007 marks Day of Belarus today
The international youth camp Friendship 2007 was officially opened on June 21 by the Monument of Friendship on the border of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. Over 1,000 youngsters take part in the camp. Today Day of Belarus is being marked there.
In the morning instructors of one of Belarusian fitness centers conducted morning exercises, senior specialist of the department for youth affairs Oksana Zadorozhnaya told BelTA. The programme of the Day also includes What? Where? When? quiz with participation of Leonid Klimovich, fencing, mini-football and checks tournaments, arm wrestling, presentation of social projects, meetings of leaders of youth organizations. Art collectives of Gomel oblast will give a concert in the evening.
Tomorrow is the last day of the camp. It will be held under the aegis of Russia. A gala concert and fireworks will be concluding events of the camp. On June 24 representatives of Russian, Belarusian and Ukrainian youth organizations will take part in a traditional gathering of delegations of Gomel, Chernigov and Bryansk oblasts “Slavonic Brotherhood” which will be held by the Monument of Friendship as well.
