International youth tent camp “Friendship-2006” to open today at Monument of Friendship
The international youth tent camp “Friendship -2006” will open officially today at the Monument of Friendship on the crossing of the borders of Belarus, Russia and Ukraine. About 800 young people from the three Slavic countries will take part in the event on June 22-24, first secretary of the Gomel oblast committee of the public association Belarusian republican youth union (BRYU) Vyacheslav Doroschenko told BelTA.
According to Vyacheslav Doroschenko, the program of the tent camp is very interesting. The official ceremony will feature a meeting “June 22 - 22 minutes”, the presentation of the three-volume collection of poems “Tablet of Memory” and the demonstration of the new movie about the country’s occupation “Belarusian osterbeiters”.
As Vyacheslav Doroschenko noted, the Gomel division of the BRYU has prepared a nice present for football fans - a huge screen will be assembled in the camp so that hundreds of young people from the three Slavic countries could watch a live broadcast of the Ukraine vs Tunis World Cup match on June 23.
The international contest “Slavic Couple of the Year” will be organized for the first time. The program also features sports and intellectual competitions, demonstration performances of the military-patriotic clubs and concerts of artistic groups.
The international tent camp “Friendship-206” will close on June 24. On June 25 the young people will take part in the international festival “Slavic Brotehrhood-2006” which will also take place at the Monument of friendship.
