Israeli businessmen ready for joint projects in Gomel region

Gomel region top officials met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Belarus Zeev Ben Arie. During the meeting the sides discussed possible enhancement of bilateral relations of Gomel region and Israel. According to Zeev Ben Arie, “The development of the bilateral relations needs better exchange of information about potential opportunities of the partners”. In particular, the ambassador noted, Israel lacks information about the Belarusian economy. “Our businessmen are ready for mutually beneficial export and import operations as well as joint ventures,” Zeev Ben Arie stressed. Unfortunately, the Israeli diplomat admitted Gomel region trade with Israel is small, with the former exporting mainly Spartak confectionery products. The ambassador promised the embassy’s support for several Belarusian projects in such fields as agriculture, power engineering, joint construction projects and informed about the possibility of Israeli companies taking part in setting up the Belarusian silicon valley. Today Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Belarus Zeev Ben Arie visited the palace and park site of the city upon Sozh, National Radiation Medicine and Human Ecology Research Centre, kindergarten-school No. 68 Antikva, regional Jewish community AKHDUT.
