Komintern brings out Valerosso brand

The Gomel-based Komintern clothing company is bringing a new brand, Valerosso, to the market, BelTA learnt from company’s deputy director general Liudmila Belyavskaya. In Spanish “valeroso” (with one “s”) means “valorous”, “courageous”, “brave”. As early as in October, the first Valerosso men’s suits will be found in Belarusian stores. These premium suits are made from expensive materials (high-quality wool combined with silk, cotton and lycra). According to Liudmila Belyavskaya, there were two reasons why the new brand was designed. First, despite a good quality of its products, the Komintern brand has recently been perceived as some kind of “fashion archaism”, especially abroad. Second, the company has obtained a successful experience of promoting its products. A year ago, the company launched a new collection of youth jackets "Sity Life” which immediately gained popularity. At present, up to 1.500 items are produced under this brand every month; all of them are sold out, in Russia, too. In January-August 2008, the company’s profits totalled Br22.1 billion which in comparable prices is 8.7% up from the same period of 2007. Over the eight months the exports grew 9%. Founded in 1919, Komintern is one of the oldest and biggest clothing producers in Belarus. Its assortment range is largely based on men’s suits. The company has long-standing cooperation links with its foreign partners: Vero (Poland); BMB (Great Britain), Verse (Germany), Grosso Moda (the Netherlands), Staiber Star L.L.C. (USA), ODEVNI PODNIK, a.s. (the Czech Republic). Komintern is employing the STB ISO 9001:2001 management quality system, certified in the national system.
