Liquidation of gale aftermath nearly over in Gomel region
Gomel region is completing the liquidation of consequences of a gale, which hit the region in the evening of May 14.
The press service of the regional emergency service, with the wind speed as high as 17-19 metres per second, the gale affected 7 districts and left some 50 communities without power supply. Among the affected objects were kindergartens, schools, industrial buildings, farms and a district hospital. Seventy-four power transformer substations were out of commission.
According to the source, 19 teams of district electric companies were engaged in liquidating the emergency aftermath. At present power supply restoration is being completed in the region. Besides, municipal services are clearing streets from multiple fallen trees.
