Mozyr Oil Refinery processing Azeri oil on schedule

MINSK, 18 July (BelTA) – The processing of oil at Mozyr Oil Refinery, including Azerbaijani oil, goes according to the production schedule, representatives of Belarusian Oil Company told BelTA. The source said that Azeri oil is supplied to Belarus regularly in line with the contract. Oil is delivered by tank ships to the Yuzhny sea port and then is piped through the Odessa-Brody pipeline to Mozyr Oil Refinery. A tank ship batch averages 80,000 tonnes. The processing of high-quality Azeri Light oil variety gives extra economic benefits thanks to the increased output of light oil products, which are exported, representatives of Belarusian Oil Company told BelTA. Mozyr Oil Refinery started receiving the Azerbaijani light oil variety Azeri Light on 15 July. Azeri Light oil will be processed the way Venezuelan oil is processed, mixed with Russian Urals oil using a proprietary technology. Azeri Light boasts a high potential for producing light oil products. The pumping of the Azeri Light oil variety to Mozyr Oil Refinery via the Odessa-Brody pipeline and the Mozyr-Brody section of the Druzhba pipeline began in February 2011. The oil delivery contract was signed by Belarusian Oil Company and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR). Up to 4 million tonnes of oil will be delivered in 2011 in line with the contract. The oil is delivered to the Yuzhny port of Ukraine to be pumped using the Odessa-Brody pipeline and the Druzhba pipeline to Mozyr Oil Refinery. The contract to use the Odessa-Brody pipeline was signed by Belarusian Oil Company and Ukrtransnafta. The open joint-stock company Gomeltransneft Druzhba is the legal successor of the enterprise Gomeltransneft Druzhba. The latter was re-organized into an open joint-stock company in late 2010. The company enables the transit of Russian and Kazakh oil to Poland, Germany, Ukraine, Hungary, Slovakia, and Czechia, the delivery of Russian and Belarusian oil to Mozyr Oil Refinery and the export of Belarusian oil. Gomeltransneft Druzhba’s pipelines are part of the system of transcontinental oil pipelines Druzhba. The Odessa-Brody pipeline was built to diversify oil supplies to Ukraine. It is part of the Euro-Asian oil transportation corridor. It connects the Pivdenny terminal of the Yuzhny seaport, Odessa Oblast, and the Brody main oil pumping station, Lviv Oblast. Its length stands at 674km, the diameter is 1,020mm, with the designed throughput capacity of 14.5 million tonnes per annum. Mozyr Oil Refinery was founded in 1975 and re-incorporated into an open joint stock company in 1994. The government share in the company’s authorized fund stands at 42.76%, that of NGK Slavneft 42.58%, Mozyr Oil Refinery Plus 12.25%, natural persons 2.41%. The company specializes in processing oil, manufacturing and selling oil products. Certified products account for about 95% of the total output.
