Rumyantsevs-Paskevichs Palace welcomes its millionth visitor

GOMEL, 25 September (BelTA) – The Rumyantsevs-Paskevichs Palace in Gomel greeted its visitor No 1,000,000 on 22 September. A ticket with this number was bought by a Croatian couple of Kalinic and Elena Davors. The guests are the residents of the town of Ozalj. They are currently on vacation and are touring Elena’s native country. The millionth guests were awarded various gifts alongside a lifelong right for free visits of all future expositions at the palace. The Rumyantsevs-Paskevichs Palace is one of the best architectural species of the 18th – 19th centuries. At present it is one of the most popular tourist attractions. The Palace is a part of the Park Ensemble that consists of a palace itself, Sts Peter and Paul’s Cathedral, a chapel and family burial vault of the Paskevichs. The complex was opened for visitors on 3 July 2003. The Palace has been submitted on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List.
