Russia, Ukraine to partake in creation of tourist Slavonic Ring in Gomel
Belarus jointly with the border regions of Russia and Ukraine plans to create a unique tourist route Slavonic Ring in the Gomel oblast, BelTA learnt from Alexander Yakobson, the Chairman of the Gomel oblast executive committee.
In his words, the route will cover the Gomel, Bryansk and Chernigov oblasts. At one trip tourists will be able to get familiar with the historical and cultural heritage of the three Eastern Slavonic nations: Belarusians, Russians and Ukrainians.
The Bryansk oblast has initiated the unification of a tourist potential of the border regions. Russia offered to prolong a well-known tourist route Golden Ring of Gomel to their territory. “That was a nice idea. We have supported it. We have already started working in this direction,” Alexander Yakobson said.
The issue will be considered with Ukraine in June during a traditional meeting of border residents at the monument of Friendship. The monument symbolizes a community of the three nations and its place can be of great interest for tourists as well.
