Sergei Sidorsky, Yury Luzhkov inaugurate new Games Sports Palace in Moscow

Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky and Mayor of the Russian capital Yury Luzhkov inaugurated the new Games Sports Palace in Moscow on November 25. Two years ago they took part in a ceremony of starting the construction, informs BelTA. The palace is an eloquent example of the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation. The idea to construct the palace emerged after a delegation of the southern-western administrative district of Moscow visited the ice palace in Gomel. The project was included in the plan of action to develop cooperation between Belarus and Moscow. The facility was constructed with the help of specialists from the Gomel oblast and with the use of Belarusian construction materials. At the opening ceremony the Moscow mayor said that the new sports facility was constructed in Moscow due to the cooperation with Belarus and the Gomel oblast in particular. “I am happy that the people who have carried out this project including Governor of the Gomel oblast Alexander Yakobson are attending the ceremony today,” Sergei Sidorsky said. Belarus is ready to share its technical solutions with Moscow, he assured. The Belarusian Prime Minister also expressed the hope that Belarus and Moscow will construct many more sports facilities in the future.
