Small Golden Ring of Gomel Oblast open for tourists
The Gomel Oblast Local Lore Museum has come up with another sightseeing tour called Small Golden Ring of Gomel Oblast. The new tour complements opportunities offered by the main excursion Gomel Oblast Golden Ring, BelTA learnt from Nadezhda Bragina, head of the scientific and educational department for public relations of the Museum.
The new tour takes tourists to see famous architectural monuments and museums in districts adjacent to the city of Gomel as well as the cultural and historical legacy of the Gomel Oblast Golden Ring. The route starts in Gomel to travel through Khalch, Vetka, Dobrush, Korenevka, and to end in Gomel. Tourists will be able to see the residence of the Kholetskiys (the village of Khalch, Vetka district), the Vetka Arts and Crafts Museum, a paper mill and a school in Dobrush that were built following an initiative of Irina Paskevich, a hunting lodge built in the 19th century in the village of Korenevka, a former estate of the Rumiantsevs-Paskevichs.
Efforts will be continueds to develop intraregional tourism employing museums and cultural and historical legacy objects in the Gomel oblast. Another sightseeing tour around historical places of the Gomel district has been promised to be made available soon.
