Ten new Orthodox churches under construction in Gomel oblast
GOMEL, 10 November (BelTA) – At present the construction of ten new Orthodox temples is in progress in the Gomel oblast, BelTA learned from representatives of the Gomel Orthodox Eparchy. One of the temples under construction in Soligorsk was sanctified one of these days.
The construction of a temple named after sanctifier Kirill of Turov has begun in Soligorsk’s former recreation park. After the foundation was laid down, a temple foundation prayer service was performed, an act which starts the history of a temple according to Orthodox traditions. The project is funded with donations of parishioners, companies and businessmen.
According to the source, new churches are also being built in Gomel, Rogachev and several rural communities of the oblast.
