Three singers to represent Gomel oblast at international pop-art festival in Orel

Three young singers will represent Gomel oblast of Belarus at the international pop-art festival “Slavonic Star-2006” which is traditionally held in the town of Orel (the Russian Federation) in autumn. This year the event will take place on November 2-5, Tatiana Poteryailo, a specialist of the Gomel oblast committee of the public union Belarusian Republican Youth Union, told BelTA. According to her, the talented singers, who will take part in the festival, were chosen in the course of the regional selection round in Gomel in October. Among them who will compete for the Grand Prix of the festival are Diana Pashuk (Gomel) who will sing the song “A Bird was Flying” in Serbian, Maria Gritsok (Zhlobin) with the song “Kolyadochki” in Belarusian and Mikhail Litetskiy who will perform with the song “Salute, Vera!” from the repertoire of Valeriy Meladze, a Russian singer. The international festival “Slavonic Star” gathers young singers from different regions of Russia, Ukraine, Moldova and other countries. Its main goal is to discover and support gifted and promising performers. To the point, singers from Gomel have repeatedly won the Grand Prix of the festival.
