Wojewodztwo Lubuskie keen on economic cooperation with Gomel oblast

WARSAW, February 17 (BelTA) – A delegation of the Gomel oblast led by First Deputy Chairman of the Oblast Executive Committee Alexander Baranov is paying a visit to Wojewodztwo Lubuskie, Poland. So far the Belarusian delegation has met with Vice Voivode Jan Swirepo in Gorzow Wielkopolski. The two sides discussed promising cooperation areas. The representatives of the Gomel oblast have also met with the members of the Western Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Local businessmen showed their interest in the investment and economic cooperation with the Gomel oblast. The Belarusian delegation provided all necessary information on the region and possible capital investments. Besides, the delegation of the Gomel oblast has paid a visit to the Kostszynsko-Slubicka special economic zone to get familiar with the activity of the food companies. The Belarusian delegation is expected to hold talks with the authorities of Wojewodztwo Kujawsko-Pomorskie. Consul General of Belarus to Gdansk Ruslan Yesin who is accompanying the Gomel delegation has stated that the contacts between the Gomel oblast and Wojewodztwo Lubuskie have been considerably expanding. “The two regions regularly exchange delegations and search for new projects to be implemented within the interregional cooperation,” the diplomat said. According to him, the two sides are currently discussing cooperation in several economic, cultural and youth projects.
