30 teams of combine operators harvest 1,000 tonnes of grain each
Thirty teams of combine operators in the Gomel oblast have already harvested 1,000 tonnes of grain each, BelTA learnt from the oblast department of the Belarusian trade union of agrarians.
Roughly a half of these teams work in the Rechitsa region. Among them are the leaders of the oblastwide harvest competition 2008. The team of Valentin Solomakho and Alexander Granem (Lexion-600), the agricultural company Kholmech, harvested 3,160 tonnes as of morning August 1.
The combine operators are celebrated right in the field for their achievements. They are given presents from the executive authorities and trade unions. For example, on August 1 the chairman of the oblast trade union of agrarians, Nikolai Sachenko, congratulated the combine operators in the Bragin region.
According to preliminary estimates, this year no fewer than 80 teams of combine operators will go past a mark of 1,000 tonnes of grain in the Gomel oblast.
