900,000 subscribers for Beltelecom’s Internet access service for households
GOMEL, 2 June (BelTA) – The Belarusian landline communication monopoly Beltelecom has signed a service contract with the 900,000th subscriber for its broadband Internet service for households. The event took place in Gomel on 2 June, BelTA has learned.
Musician Ivan Zelenin, father of four, is the happy owner of the gift certificate from Beltelecom. The Zelenins moved into a new apartment a while ago and decided to get broadband Internet access. They opted out for Beltelecom’s Universal package that includes phone calls, unlimited Internet access marketed under the byfly brand, and interactive television ZALA.
The family was delighted to receive free access to the Internet service for a year as well as presents from Beltelecom. Judging by the present cost of the service, the Zelenins will be able to save about Br1 million within a year.
The number of subscribers for Beltelecom’s Internet access service for households exceeded 800,000 in early February 2011. The company plans to surpass the one million threshold by the end of the year.
