Alexander Lukashenko continues trip to Chernobyl-hit regions

KOMARIN, April 25 (BelTA) – President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is continuing his tour of the Chernobyl-hit regions. The head of state will visit the urban-type settlement of Komarin, the Bragin region, on April 25, BelTA learnt from the president’s press service. Alexander Lukashenko will get familiar with the spring sowing campaign and the implementation of his commissions to provide the Gomel oblast and the Bragin region with gas services. The President will visit the territory of the Polesie State Radiation and Ecology Reserve of the Bragin region to see the radiological situation in the Gomel oblast and take stock of what has been done to mitigate the Chernobyl consequences. The head of state will also visit the Komarin regional hospital to assess the degree of medical services provided to the people in the Chernobyl-hit regions. A meeting to mark the 23rd Chernobyl anniversary will take place in the Central Square of Komarin on April 25. Alexander Lukashenko will light the Eternal Fire at the monument to the soldiers-liberators, speak with the local residents.
