Belarus-Russia military cooperation is developing successfully, Leonid Maltsev says
The cooperation between Belarus and Russia in the military area is developing successfully, Belarusian Defense Minister Leonid Maltsev said at the meeting with his Russian counterpart Anatoly Serdiukov.
“I am happy to say that we have moved from theoretical issues to practical solutions that include equipment of the regional group of forces, creation of the joint air defense, training of military personnel and military and technical cooperation”, he said.
According to Leonid Maltsev, all this attests to the fact that the bilateral cooperation is aimed at achieving concrete goals. The ongoing improvement of weapons and development of military studies bring about constant challenges that should be tackled. “All this urges us to cooperate in many areas and the joint board will be another step to solve many issues”, Leonid Maltsev said.
Anatoly Serdiukov stated that there are no problems in the relations between Belarus and Russia that could not be solved. He also noted that the sides plan to sign an agreement on joint technical equipment of the regional group of forces of Belarus and Russia and an agreement on the cooperation in the radio electronic warfare.
