Belarus ships first batch of butter to Venezuela

KALINKOVICHI DISTRICT, 17 August (BelTA) – Belarus has shipped the first batch of butter to Venezuela, Acting Agriculture and Food Minister of Belarus Leonid Marinich told President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko who was on a working trip to Gomel Oblast on 17 August, BelTA has learnt. According to Leonid Marinich, the first 90-tonne batch of butter has already been shipped. A total of 720 tonnes of butter will be exported to Venezuela. In an interview to BelTA Leonid Marinich said that the butter will be delivered in 20kg blocks and packed on the site. “Venezuela is now trying to change dietary patterns of population, therefore it is switching from margarine to organic butter because it is healthier,” Leonid Marinich said. He noted that Belarusian plants have been certified to export thousands of tonnes of butter to Venezuela.
