Belarusian, Turkmen companies encouraged to establish direct ties

GOMEL, 28 February (BelTA) – Economic entities of Belarus and Turkmenistan should establish direct ties. The opinion was voiced by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Belarus Mr Murad Yazberdiyev in Gomel on 28 February. The Ambassador is in Gomel Oblast on a two-day visit, BelTA has learned. The diplomat said that cooperation of the two countries in trade and economy, education, and culture in the last few years has been strategic. Several major joint projects are being implemented at the government level. “Yet as it was stated at the latest meeting of our heads of state, it is now necessary to promote direct contacts between economic entities of the two countries. They could substantially expand the spectrum of our cooperation,” remarked Murad Yazberdiyev. On 28 February the Ambassador met with Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Mr Vladimir Dvornik and also visited OAO Dairy Products. The Ambassador praised the company’s manufacturing practices. “I have no doubt that Belarusian food will soon occupy a large part of our market. These products are high quality and competitive. They are already imported to Turkmenistan irregularly. It is now necessary to streamline the flow,” stressed Murad Yazberdiyev. The next day the Ambassador is expected to meet with the administration of the F. Skorina State University of Gomel and with Turkmen students, who study in Gomel universities.
