Belorusneft, Zarubezhneft running pilot project in oil production

GOMEL, 31 January (BelTA) – The Belarusian oil company Belorusneft and Russia’s oil company Zarubezhneft have signed a draft action plan for 2012 in Gomel, BelTA learned from Belorusneft. In line with the document, the two companies will expand mutually beneficial cooperation and unite their scientific and resource potential to produce hard to recover hydrocarbon reserves and increase oil recovery at Belarusian oil fields. The project Visha Termogaz was chosen as a pilot project. Thermal gas pressure technology is to be tested at the Visha oil field in Gomel Oblast. The two companies plan to share best practices in laboratory research. In particular, the specialists of the scientific division of Belorusneft have plans to have a secondment at the VNIIneft institute of Russia. Other oil companies might join the projects of Belorusneft and Zarubezhneft. One of them is a company from Kazakhstan. Belorusneft is the country’s leading oil extracting company that has been extracting oil for over 40 years. Belorusneft specializes in oil and gas extraction, processing of crude hydrocarbons, oil industry services, industrial science, in selling processed oil and gas products in the country and abroad. Zarubezhneft was established in 1967 as a branch All-Union foreign economic association under the USSR Oil Industry Ministry. The company specializes in the exploration, development and operation of oil and gas fields in Russia and abroad.
