GOMEL, 17 December (BelTA) – China is determined to expand and deepen the mutually beneficial cooperation with Belarus, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Lu Guicheng told reporters at the opening of a new surgical and intensive care unit at the Gomel regional heart center on 17 December, BelTA has learnt.
The new surgical and intensive care unit cost Br21 billion, of which $4.3 million was donated by the government of China, the remaining funds were provided by the national and regional budgets.
According to Lu Guicheng, the construction of the new healthcare facility in Gomel is a bright example of the fruitful cooperation between Belarus and China. “It is another evidence of good cooperation prospects which the Chinese Embassy will promote in every possible way,” he added.
The diplomat noted that in recent years the meetings between the two heads of state became more frequent. The political trust is growing stronger, the cooperation is expanding across a variety of fields, and the bilateral trade is gaining momentum. In his opinion, Belarus and China have laid a great foundation for the further development of relations in power engineering, telecommunications, transport, medicine and other areas. He expressed confidence that the countries will be able to expand and deepen the mutually beneficial cooperation.
