GOMEL, 31 July (BelTA) – A digital library will start functioning in Gomel this year. Its opening will make part of the events held in the country to mark the Year of Book, BelTA learnt from the cultural department of the Gomel City Hall.
The first regional library of the kind will be located in a two-storied building. There has been taken a decision to develop a full-bodied information center there. The majority of the publications from the library archive will be kept in electronic format.
The library will comprise of a hall with periodicals and an access to the Internet, a relax zone for readers to listen to audio books and music, a big reading hall equipped for hosting seminars, a conference hall fitted with multimedia systems for holding conferences, trainings and seminars.
