Gomselmash to export fodder harvesters to South Korea
GOMEL, 20 March (BelTA) – Gomselmash Production Association has signed a contract to supply six pull-type fodder harvesters KDP-3000 Palesse FT40 to South Korea, BelTA learnt from Igor Korotkevich, chief of sale department at Gomselmash.
The harvesters are used to crop full and wax ripe corn, sorgo, sunflowers, and other tall-stalked plants with further grinding and loading on transport vehicles. “The contract makes provision for regular supplies of equipment. The amount of exported vehicles may increase during the year,” Igor Korotkevich said.
In August 2011 Gomselmash exported the first consignment of fodder harvesters to South Korea. South Korean specialists needed to test harvesters coupled with energy intensive tractors. Fields are rather small in Korea. That is why local specialists decided to test the following scheme: they mounted a KDP-3000 in front of a tractor and placed a cart for crushed corn behind it. The South Korean partners asked to make some changes in the harvesters because of the technological peculiarities of harvesting. By the way, German pull-type harvesters underwent similar tests. As a result, the choice was made in favor of Belarusian-made equipment.
Founded in 1978, Gomselmash Production Association stems from the plant Gomselmash that was founded in 1930. It is one of the largest manufacturers of agricultural machines in the CIS and Europe. Gomselmash offers self-propelled and pull-type harvesters and mowing crushers, grain harvesters, mounted mower-shredders, potato harvesters.
