Japan grants $400,000 to Gomel hospitals to buy medical equipment

The Japanese government allocated almost $400,000 to several hospitals of the Gomel oblast to purchase medical equipment, BelTA learnt from the Japanese Embassy in Belarus. The Japanese diplomatic mission is implementing a programme of the Japanese government ‘Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects’. In line with this programme, Japan will finance the purchase of medical equipment for Bragin central regional hospital ($85,200), Loev hospital ($74,700), Elsk hospital ($80,900), Buda-Koshelev hospital ($76,500) and Gomel children’s hospital ($69,600). The contracts will be signed in Buda-Koshelev central regional hospital and Gomel oblast children’s hospital on March 6, in Elsk hospital on March 10, in Bragin and Loev hospitals on March 13. According to the diplomatic mission, nine projects have already been implemented since ‘Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects’ was launched. Medical equipment worth $679,600 was purchased for the hospitals located in the Chernobyl affected areas.
