Loyev coast guard unit to launch international technical support project
GOMEL, 4 October (BelTA) – An international technical support project will be launched at the Loyev coast guard unit of the Gomel border group on 4 October, BelTA learnt from the press service.
The project has been initiated by the European Commission, the International Organization for Migration and the International Center for Migration Policy Development. The project is meant for enhancing the efficiency of the Belarusian-Ukrainian border control.
The budget of the project for Belarus exceeds ?1 million. The money will be used to acquire marsh buggies, motorcycles and other vehicles for border surveillance, conduct joint reconnaissance visits to the EU and eight regional seminars.
Partaking in the solemn ceremony will be representatives of the border services of Belarus and Ukraine as well as initiators of the project.
