Lukashenko calls for impartiality in Chernobyl issues

NAROVLYA, 26 April (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko demanded that Belarusian scientists are impartial in what concerns the issues of recovery of the Chernobyl-affected areas. “I want just one thing from the scientists: to be impartial and objective. We need an absolutely transparent picture here,” the head of state said when on the tour around Narovlya District on 26 April. Alexander Lukashenko stressed that a lot depends on scientists in the issues of the rehabilitation of the contaminated land. “The thing is about your civil stand, not cost accounting. You need to be impartial and objective,” the President noted. Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that the state is not going to take hasty decisions regarding the territory near the Polesie State Radiation and Environment Reserve. “What we need is objective unbiased attitude,” the President stated.
