Museum Night in Gomel high in color and imagination

GOMEL, 14 May (BelTA) – The Rumyantsev-Paskevich Palace has prepared a big cultural program for the Museum Night event, BelTA learnt from this cultural institution. The Museum Night will begin at 20h00 on 14 May and will continue until 2 am in the morning. The program includes numerous concerts, performances, exhibitions, tours, workshops, historic reconstructions and a charity auction. A historical reconstruction of the events of World War II and the Middle Ages “A Military Camp” will be the highlight of the event. It will feature unique costumes of the wartime, bikes and cars of the 1940s, and an exhibition of medieval crafts. These unique events have been arranged by the members of the military and historical associations “Esprit de Corps” and its division “Banner”. No less interesting will be the demonstration (via a video projector on one wall of the palace) of the Museums of the World video, performances of winners of various competitions on stage of the White Hall in the Rumyantsev-Paskevich Palace and presentation of three exhibition projects. The international event “Museum Night” traditionally involves more than 2,000 museums from 40 countries. More than 60 museums in Belarus will take part in the project this year. The purpose of the event is not only to show historical, archaeological or pictorial collections, but to arrange a kind of theatrical entertainment and cultural performance, which will present the usual museum in an unusual time of day and in the new unusual way.
