Presidential campaign to consolidate Belarusian society
MINSK, 30 September (BelTA) – The presidential campaign in Belarus should foster consolidation of the Belarusian society, Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Belaya Rus organization Viktor Guminsky said. He opened a seminar of the Minsk Oblast Office of Belaya Rus featuring chairmen of the regional offices on 30 September, BelTA has learnt.
The MP emphasized that Belarus has embarked on a very important political campaign and Belaya Rus, one of the country’s biggest public organizations, will not stay away from it. “It would be great if the political campaign consolidates the society, if the candidates do not send disintegrating messages and their programs are aimed at creation,” Viktor Guminsky said.
In his words, these are the principles Belaya Rus abides by in its work. One of its major goals is to promote the unification of progressive forces interested in building a strong and flourishing Belarus. Belaya Rus decided a long time ago to support the incumbent president and nominate him to run for the presidency in the elections in December 2010.
The seminar evolved around the role of grass-route organizations in the unification of the civil society and the structural enhancement of Belaya Rus. During the solemn gathering, the Chairman of Belaya Rus handed over certificates of honor and letters of thanks to the best activists of Minsk District. After that, the participants of the seminar went to the Zhdanovichi agricultural company to attend a solemn ceremony of presenting Belaya Rus membership cards to the workers of the enterprise. After that, they will tour Secondary School No. 2 in the village of Borovlyany to hold a campaign “Belaya Rus for Road Safety of Children”. Over 100 first-graders will receive flickers and will be lectured about the road safety. Apart from that, young specialists will be honored and membership cards will be granted in Minsk Central District Hospital. The participants of the seminar will visit a community liaison office in the Papernya village executive committee and meet with activists of the grass-route organization of Belintertrans.
