Rostselmash harvesters to be fitted with Minsk engines

MINSK, June 25 (BelTA) – Rostov harvesters will be fitted with engines produced by Minsk Engine Works (MMZ trademark). The decision was reached during a meeting between Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky and Rostov Oblast Governor Vladimir Chub in Minsk on June 25. Following the meeting, Sergei Sidorsky told reporters that Vektor harvesters made by Rostselmash will be fitted with Minsk engines. There are also proposals to expand cooperation between the Russian company and Gomselmash. The meeting in Minsk featured the issues that were placed on the agenda of Belarus-Rostov oblast cooperation as early as in autumn 2008 during the visit of the Belarusian Prime Minister to this region. During that meeting the sides agreed to expand the bilateral cooperation, the relevant protocol was signed. In 2008, the trade between our country and the Rostov oblast made up over $370 million. “We should build up the trade,” the Belarusian Premier underlined. A close cooperation between the Belarusian and Russian enterprises, including Rostselmash, Gomselmash and Minsk Engine Works will help boost the bilateral trade. Apart from that, Belarus and the Rostov oblast set up more integrated structures on the regional level. Cooperation programmes for 2009-2011 were signed on June 25 between the Gomel town executive committee and the administration of Rostov, between the Pinsk town executive committee and the administration of the town of Taganrog.
