Students attending schools in contaminated areas now entitled to free spa treatment
MINSK, 4 October (BelTA) - President Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No 517 “On the Provision of Social Benefits for Certain Categories of Underage Children,” BelTA learnt from the presidential press service.
The purpose of this document is to improve the social security of underage children living in uncontaminated areas but studying at the education institutions located in contaminated areas. These children are now entitled to free meals during their school hours, free-of-charge spa treatment and recreation services and free-of-charge travel to the treatment and recreation places and back.
In addition, to make sure that as many children who live or study in contaminated areas as possible have access to recreation and treatment services, the Decree entitles the children traveling to treatment and recreation centers as members of organized groups to free-of-charge travel and entitles one of their parents (or their substitute) accompanying the children aged 3 to 6 to the health centers to the same treatment and recreation services at only 15 per cent of their original cost.
The adoption of this Decree is still another proof that the State takes constant care of children, making it a priority task of the national social policy.
